Day 1: Detroit.

The last few weeks have been a bit of a blur.

I'm typing this as fast as my fingers can move, mainly due to the fact that I haven't packed yet, and I still have some running around to do (aka buy a bunch of confetti). My apologies if this entry's a tad sporadic -- I'll probably bulk it up down the road.

We've been booking this tour since March, and it's finally happening. Rob (Aquatic People/The Summer Pledge) has been busting his hump to get us these shows, so naturally, he's coming with us. Say Hi to Rob, everyone!

Brent and I were messaged yesterday afternoon by Travis Wright (WDET) about coming into the studio to talk about the tour and ZMX, which was an excellent way to start the night. Thanks again, Travis!

He also showed us this video, which is pretty boss:

This was the third show we'd put together at Northern Lights, starting around a year ago, and each time, the show gets a little bit bigger. The turnout last night was unreal -- performing for familiar faces is always good, and performing for friends you haven't seen in years is a beautiful thing. Kind of like grown-up Show And Tell.

We try to have diverse lineups for these Northern Light outings, and last night was no different. Thanks to Doss The Artist, Jamaican Queens, Smash Television and The Ashleys for being the music titans that they are.

Speaking of The Ashleys, we're in the early stages of an album with those guys, and we premiered the song "Cash 4 $oul" last night. As soon as The Ashleys finished, Tom came to the back and said I broke three strings, I don't know if I can do it. It took him little more than 90 seconds to figure something out on his remaining strings, and the performance went smoothly.

Lotta sweat. Lotta lotta fun. The support we were shown last night is a real crazy feeling. It takes a lot for people to care about what you're doing, y'know? And hearing people say I gave your cd to friends in Maryland and New York and they love it, and seeing people stay out 'til close to closing time on a Thursday to hear our little rap songs...I never would have thought. Never would have thought.

Thanks to Kegger and Tom and Steve and Keith and Alex and Randy and Ryan S and Ryan C and Adam and Josh and Leaf and Jefferson and Doss and Guley and Lisa and Justin and Paula and Dima and Marie and Nate and Mom and Kwesi and Kopelli and Laura and Jeff and Milo and Lisa and Steve and Lee and Kristi and Desmond and JP and DPMB and Vinnie and The Wonder Boys and Chace and Whitney and Alex and Kayla and Danielle and KaNisha and Chris Krez and Pink Lightning and Adam and Kayleigh and Mindi and Matt and Allison and Vern and Rob and Eddie and Waffles and everyone else that made it out that I don't know on a first-name basis. You made our tour kickoff better than we could have ever expected.

Alright, I oughta pack. We're heading to Toledo in a few. Remus doesn't want me to leave.
