Day 2 - Toledo.

After the wild kickoff show, both Brent and I were working on about 3 hours of sleep. He went to his day job, and I did whatever it is that I do with a day off.

Brent, Rob and I hit the road around 6 in the rental car. The one we[p';[p[[[[[[[[[[""

(sorry, Adam's dog Blue dragged his face across my keyboard.)

The one we ended up renting was considerably smaller than expected, but we "Tetris'd that shit", and made it to the Ottawa Tavern in surprising time.

Sat down at Ottawa Tavern and rolled up t-shirts while watching a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives  marathon ( "Onion rings are pretty gangster."). The opener tonight was Yusef Lateef with the JS Trio, who were stellar. Personal favorite moment was their cover of Fall In Love. It made my soul feel good.

I went to the bathroom at one point.

There were about 20 people watching us last night, two of which drove from Madison Heights because they missed the Northern Lights show. Holy shit! We gave the best show we possibly could, sans confetti (my thing: if there's say, less than 50 people at a venue, and you're shooting confetti, you kind of feel like a doofus.).

After the set, we hung out with Adam at Ottawa, and he was kind enough to let us crash at his place -- we were quickly introduced to his dog, a black lab/boxer named Blue, who refuses regular dog food after getting a taste for yogurt and oatmeal.

"I fucking feed this asshole pears." -Adam

At the end of the night, we found out from an inside source Ryan Gosling is a terrible speller, and for whatever reason, that made me feel pretty good? (I was very tired) Also, shouts to Adam's neighbor Mike, who stood on the porch eating a container of cottage cheese and drinking a glass of red wine. He didn't realize there were cool people in Detroit, and assumed we were from Denver.

Grabbin' a coffee, then it's off to Nashville! WOOP!
